Haris’ dedication to the non-profit sector began in 2006 as a cohort 1 Scholar at Hartford Youth Scholars. He attended the Loomis Chaffee School and later graduated from Connecticut College with a double major in Sociology and History. Haris recently received a certificate in Non-Profit Management from the Institute of Non-Profit Practice at Tufts.

Haris launched his career at the Portland Children's Museum in Oregon, followed by a role at the Steppingstone Foundation in Boston, where he served as a Support Services Advisor, helping youth navigate their paths to higher education. In 2019, Haris joined Horizons DCD as Program Director, overseeing the 6-week Summer Program, High School Program, and academic year partnerships. He was promoted to Executive Director in 2021, where he now leads fundraising efforts, strategic planning, and teacher recruitment.

Haris’ commitment to youth extends beyond Horizons; he also dedicates his time to coaching soccer with Newton Girls Soccer.
